Today I'll be reviewing one of the book I had the chance to read over winter break. My mom suggested that I read this book and I was not disappointed by this recommendation.
The Other Woman by Sandie Jones (check it out here)
The story follows Emily as she starts dating Adam, everything is seemingly perfect in their relationship until Emily meets Adam's mother. Their relationship is testing when the mother-in-law gets in the way.
What I liked: The twist ending was written all over the cover of the book, and honestly I think the twist is predictable. But with that being said, I didn't predict it at all! Once it came all together, I think it was pretty obvious. It was also an easy and addictive read, I finished it in less than 2 days.
What I didn't like: The story's plot was very intriguing but towards the end of the book I was sick of the characters. They became very predictable and I found myself not rooting for them. I either loved characters or totally despised them. Some of them didn't develop at all. Characters just got boring, and since they are fundamental to the plot the end flopped.
What type of person would like this book?
This book has a similar style to The Woman in Cabin 10 and The Girl on the Train, with a little less suspense and creepy parts. If you enjoyed those books then I think this one is right up your alley!
Would I recommend this book to a friend?
Yes! It was a really quick and fun read with a twist ending. Who could resist?
