Web comics have truly been a blessing for this past month. I hardly have any time to blog anymore, and so reading is pretty much out of the question, and because I haven't been able to curl up with a good book by a roaring fireplace as snow falls gently outside, I fell as though part of me is missing. And so I have been filling that void with web comics. They're fun, they're fast, they're exciting, and they're all available for free online, depending on where you're reading of course. I personally love the app Webtoon (and this is not sponsored in any way I just like web comics) since its totally free and reading the comics there helps to support the original artist, and I'm all about supporting independent artists. So if you've been looking for a new way to waste time that isn't as mind numbing as binge-watching shows on Netflix, download Webtoon and add these three comics to your subscription boxes.
My Dear Cold-Blooded King
After seeing this novel advertised on Instagram for literally months on end, my curiosity got the best of me and I just had to know who the blood King was. Was it the man in the mask? The cool and collected servant? Or someone else entirely? So I spent an entire night reading about how a lowly city girl became the fake bride of the ruthless blood King of ancient Japan, and found out pretty quickly who the blood King was. But the story is filled with dozens of plots that keep you intrigued and invested in the story, and the love triangle developing between the main character, the feisty and flirtatious general, and the cool and mysterious blood King is always interesting to read about. I personally want her to end up with the blood King, since he is handsome and calm and gentle, and I always liked the dark and mysterious types in the anime dating games. So if you like quality artwork, ancient Japan, and a delicate balance between action and drama, check out My Dear Cold-Blooded King.

This is a story about mermaids that I also got so sick of seeing on Instagram that I caved and read it all. It's about a girl who gets caught up with a siren curse and becomes a siren herself, but something goes wrong, and her and the handsome, flirty and feisty siren that gave her the curse get caught up with the task of trying to fix it before time runs out and she becomes a siren forever. The whole siren curse takes a back seat and most of the story is really centered on the main girl vying for the love and affection of her childhood crush, a boy who is cool and collected, while also looking at the developing relationship between her and the flirty mermaid, since that seems to be the theme with love triangles and online comics. The story is lighthearted and fun, but still entertaining, and worth checking out if you like romance and mermaids.

How To Love
Regardless of who you are and what you're doing with your life you should read this book. It is stupid, it is simple, it is hilarious and it is wise and knowledgable about love and self esteem and everything else that comes with existing in an imperfect yet wonderful world. Each episode answers a question about love or anything else in a simple, cute, metaphorical way that it easy to understand, entertaining to read, and useful to apply to your daily life. The character that takes you through each lesson is painfully simple looking, yet weirdly adorable and relatable despite its lack of a human nose and other details. The comic is completely finished now, but it's something you can read over and over, since the little jokes keep getting funnier, and the advice is always applicable.

I'm pretty sure all of the links will take you to the episode I am currently on in the series, so my apologies for that, I am too lazy to go and get new links. I hope you all enjoy these online comics. I feel like they get a bad rap sometimes, but in all honesty, these stories are just as entertaining and professional as any book you could get from a bookstore, with the added bonus of them being free and also accompanied with beautiful drawings.
Let me know if you read any of them and what you think of each story. Do you want the blood king or the general to get the girl? And do you want Lyra to end up with her human boyfriend or her new siren friend?
