The way I like to listen to music is playing the same two or three songs over and over and over again. I typically stick with those few songs until something better comes around, and then I save those old songs to a playlist and move onto the next ones.
Lately I've been seeking out calmer songs, not peppy dance numbers or the pop you hear on the radio but songs that make me feel calm and empowered. And I found the two perfect songs that will do Just that.
Water Under the Bridge /Adele
Despite being in a stable relationship, every time this song about a reckless yet passionate relationship comes on I get goosebumps. Adele truly does have a way of writing songs that get you heartbroken over people you've never even met. Its calming and soothing but when the verses kick in I can picture myself standing on a stage, a single spotlight on me, just wailing out these lyrics and crying and totally killing it.
This Town / Niall Horan
I was a huge directioner back when Take Me Home was released. Zayn and Harry were always my favorites, but like most One Direction fans, I had a soft spot for Niall. That love for him still beats strong, especially after listening to his new single. Its a calming, guitar heavy song, once again with a message of heartbreak but also hope. If you're still hung up on the person you know is right for you, then this song will speak directly to your soul. For me I can relate because it reminds me how much I love One Direction and how badly I wish things were peaceful and pure like they were in the days of Up All Night.
So these are the songs I've been keeping on repeat for the past week, and I've gotten all my friends hooked on them too. I hope you guys like them, be sure to give them a listen and maybe you'll find yourself hooked as well, blasting Niall Horan as loud as your phone speaker will go in the late hours of the night.
