DISCLAIMER: This post isn't written from a "political "agenda" POV or to bash the current administration but rather out of concern/fear for our world.
Early in February President Trump undid Obama's coal mining law, the Office of Surface Mining's Stream Protection Rule, and there hasn't been much buzz about this repeal as there should be. The Office of Surface Mining's Stream Protection Rule protected streams from mining companies from dumping mining waste into the streams and re-mining areas that companies had already mined.
Trump and mining companies agreed that this act was "a major threat to your[Americans'] jobs" because it prevented companies from re-mining certain areas. Trump claimed that this act ruined big mining companies and wanted to fight for the American people by repealing this law.
If Trump and his administration are fighting for the American people, then who is fighting for Earth? If Earth wasn't thriving and well there could be no American people for President Trump to fight for. Putting all political views and beliefs aside, humanity should be more invested and concerned for our Earth and the laws passed on it. The Earth has no voice to stand up and fight for itself but there should be more people out there fighting for the Earth to preserve it and take care of it.
The media has been covering President Trump non-stop since his election into office; however, no media seems to be interested in covering a repeal that could change the status of our planet's well-being.
PS: I know this piece was very very short on such an important manner, I just struggled with getting my points and views across in a way that could be respected and valued by everyone.
PPS: I urge you guys to do research on anything that interests you or you have questions about. Whether you do research in pro or con of this repeal, or even research on why Coke is better than Pepsi, it is so important to become informed about current events going on in our world to become a more educated person.
