As summer officially comes to an end for Carrot and I, I felt that it was only right to reflect on this past summer. I am struggling to find a way to describe the summer after my freshman year of college. To put it simply, it was the summer of everything.
I know, I know, that sounds pretty angsty. While I do like to indulge in the occasional teenage angst, I mean that I can’t just describe this summer with one work. This summer I worked a busy summer job, went on a fun vacation, took two summer school courses, stayed up late with Carrot too many times, spent time with my family, went on adventures with my boyfriend, blogged till my heart was content and lived my hot girl summer. It was the Summer of Working Hard, the Summer of Adventures, the Summer of Love; it was the Summer of Everything.
Looking back on this summer I have so many great memories, but I also learned more about myself and the person I want to become. In this, I have decided to change my minor to something that I’ve been passionate about but scared to pursue. I have journaled my heart away to reflect on my past mistakes and how I want to move forward. I have my goals in line for this upcoming school year and I’m ready to become the student and person that I have always wanted to be. I have become closer with the people that matter most and have worked to strengthen those relationships.
The end of the Summer of Everything means the start of my sophomore year of college. I am ready for this new chapter and welcome it with open arms.
