I've always dreamed of doing a favorites post, since I love watching monthly favorites on youtube and sometimes I'll even sit by myself, all alone in my room talking to no one about my very own monthly favorites. So now the time has come, and I present to you, like stuff I've been liking recently.
I recently dug up our old VHS player/TV and put it in my room along with every VHS tape that we still own. There were a lot of Disney films, but also a lot of classic movies like Casablanca and Gone With the Wind. One film that I do not recommend however, is An Affair to Remember. It was honestly one of the worst movies I've ever seen and I wish I could forget it.
Not Wearing Makeup
Each morning Little Egg and I snapchat each other angsty messages about how tired we are and how we want to sleep instead of graduate and every now and then Little Egg will express her regret at having made the decision to put on makeup. I however have completely given up on the endeavor of makeup and live my life with an extra thirty minutes of sleep and a fresh face. It has been surprisingly enlightening, and has also allowed me to really take care of my skin, which has always been an issue for me.
Teen Mom Vlogs
This is the single best YouTube rabbit-hole I've fallen into. I've watched so many teen mom vlogs that I've convinced myself that I want a baby. My favorite is Jelian Mercado because her son is so cute it actually makes me wanna cry.
Old PC Games
Specifically one old PC game called Gun that took me three hours to install but was totally worth it because now I get to roam the wild west as a ruthless mercenary, catching bounty hunters and helping my friend who also happens to be a prostitute.
Essays About Race
There are so many quality essays out there thrown into the mix of really terrible essays written about things that don't really matter. But seeking out those essays that matter has honestly been life changing, and I've especially liked reading about race issues, especially ones in literature and other art forms. An especially interesting one is by Chinua Achebe on "Heart of Darkness", which you may find particularly interesting if you read my blog post from a couple weeks ago about the book.
Its been a good month full of love and nice times, and I wanted to share that love through my favorite things. Check back this Friday for a regularly scheduled blog post!
