In one week I will take the AP Environmental Science test, and while I haven't learned very much in that class, I have learned that our world is in trouble. Duh. If you don't already know and accept this as a fact, do a quick google search and you'll be sure to find some article or documentary to change your mind. Sitting in the class has made me very passionate about environmental issues, so passionate that I went searching for practical, daily actions I could take that would benefit our environment. Most of them came from an app called JouleBug that I recommend all of you guys download right now. So if you want to save the world, read on.
Don't Flush the Toilet All the Time
There's a line from the Earth Day episode of iCarly where their teacher says, "Who needs a toilet when you have a backyard and a shovel." You don't have to go that far, but living by the phrase, 'If its yellow let it mellow, if its brown flush it down,' can go a long way for conserving water. It can be kind of gross, and you should not do this in public restrooms or if you have roommates or family members that share your bathroom. Big emphasis on that. Not flushing your toilet in the sanctity of your own home is fine. Not flushing public toilets is gross. Overall this helps save lots of water, and also lots of money.
