I'm stuck between being a meticulous planner, forgetting everything, and wanting to just go with the flow. Right now, with a job and summer school classes, I am forcing myself to be a meticulous planner. Rather than spend lots of money on a planner, which is what I usually do, this time I opted to make my own. I've tried bullet journaling and found it difficult to keep up with because I was trying too hard to incorporate too many of the things I saw on pinterest. So this time around I took a composition notebook from the dollar store and created an extremely simple layout.
I write the number day and day of the week and give myself a few lines to write a simple check-box to-do list. I can see a week at a time and all my tasks are laid out. I also made a really simple calendar with my work schedule and assignments due, as well as important test dates highlighted. That's nice to see my whole month at a glance and make sure I don't overwhelmed by too many tasks in one day.
If any of you are struggling to keep organized I totally recommend getting a notebook of your own and setting out to design a planner of your own to fit your needs and tastes. Its a nice way to start off the week by setting out all your tasks and goals and getting yourself centered and focused on what's ahead. Now, the only thing I have left to do is actually complete all those tasks I set out for myself...
